This answered why I was getting poor results with low speed like the darning foot instructions said to use and why my stitches were long and ugly. I was very likely pulling the fabric too hard.Thanks and you are cute.

@Sewmuchquilting Thanks--I have no idea what these pads are called, but they're at fabric/quilting stores, and they're for quilting. They come in a package together--ask at your local store--they should have them. Good luck!
